Birds in New Jersey 2014

Tuesday, 19 August 2014 - a very special birdfeeder afternoon.

There it was.... a goldfinch, eating the nyjer seeds!

It stayed on the nyjer seed feeder a good long time, chowing down.

Titmouse continued to take a seed and fly away, alternating with the chickadee. Titmouse also ate from the "finch mix" feeder.

The goldfinch continued to gorge on nyjer seeds.

The northern flicker appeared several times.

For a second, there was a house sparrow, goldfinch, and northern flicker together.

The northern flicker had a drink.

So far, so good. The fishing line-on-hula hoop "halo" feeders have remained house sparrow free. This has allowed many other
birds to appear.
