Birds in New Jersey 2014

28 August 2014 - A new bird appears.

A LOT of rock doves show up.

Juvenile mourning dove.

I put out a grape for the cardinal, and a NEW BIRD appears: a catbird!

The catbird likes the grape.

1 September 2014 - Another sunny day. What wonders will delight us today?

A downy woodpecker briefly appears, then flies away.

2 September 2014

Our back yard jungle.

Juvenile house finch on the left, with its mom. "Are you going to feed me, Mom?"

"No, junior. You're big enough to figure out this feeder thing by youself."

American goldfinches

The birds all prefer to feed at the main house sparrow feeder (the one on the far left, further back, in the photos that show all
the feeders in the back yard). Here's the titmouse waiting for its turn.
