Something not seen since the spring: a grackle on a feeder
The last birds to visit the yard before it gets dark include the juncos.
And, often alongside each other, a white-throated sparrow and a dark-eyed junco
Now a regular late afternoon visitor: a male and a female downy woodpecker. Here's the female. They never eat at the same feeder;
they always take turns.
Getting more and more comfortable in the backyard, a bluejay is now a familiar late-afternoon visitor, as well
