20 December 2014. A thief in action
An attempt to stop the thief: our first squirrel baffle, courtesy of a dollar store aluminum pan, tin snips, a screw, and a clamp.
This is the desired result: Squirrel: Zero. Downy woodpecker: One.
They seem to know that they are not welcome in our yard.
That's right, I'm talking about you.
Note where the green paint has been scratched away around the feeder openings by the teeth of a squirrel.
