Birds in New Jersey 2014
13 June 2014. The backyard feeding frenzy continues.
The male brown-headed cowbird spies another male. He puffs up to look intimidating.
He tries puffing up again to scare away the other cowbird.
The male cardinal performs his daily inspection.
House sparrows line up.
And then, an amazing event: an enormous bluejay lands on the feeder. Unfortunately, the photos were
taken with a much less powerful camera.
