Birds in New Jersey 2014

20 June 2014. Since the house sparrows spend so much time fighting over four eating spots on the one feeder,
a second feeder is ordered.

A new development is the arrival of huge rock doves (often called pigeons), in variant colours.

Two variants arrive together.

The female cardinal arrives to watch.

There are lots of babies. Here is a young house sparrow. It is drooping its wings. It will then flutter them rapidly,
and approach either of its parents and open its mouth wide, reminding the older bird that even though it is fat,
well-fed, and able to fly and eat on its own, it is still a little baby.

Still trying to get the attention of one of its parents.
