Birds in New Jersey 2014

25 October 2014, continued

Tufted titmouse grabs a black oil sunflower seed

White-breasted nuthatch grabs one, too. They never share a feeder; if one of them approaches, the other one takes off.

A daily visitor, as well: black-capped chickadee

A second later, the chickadee has left and a titmouse has appeared

Female purple finch

After spotting a new bird, the next most exciting thing is seeing more than one of them at a time. Here are TWO female purple finches.
