Birds in New Jersey 2014

2 November 2014 - a great birdwatching day, continued

Berry-loving birds had a field day as the holly tree dumped all its berries on the ground. Here, three juncos check out the feast.

Two colours of juncos: greyish and black.

Male house finch

Two male purple finches (native east coast species of finch)

Can you find the six juncos?

Birds love to eat fat as winter approaches. Here is an acrobatic white-breasted nuthatch, apparently suspended by one leg,
under the suet feeder.
